You can hear Big John Howell weekday mornings from 5-9am on AM 560 WIND.
John came to Chicago over 20 years ago and has been heard on WUSN-FM, WJMK-FM, and WCKG-FM. He’s also hosted the nationally syndicated Country Gold, a live call-in request show heard across the country via the Westwood One Radio Network from 1999-2006. Originally a native of Holland Michigan, John graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Boston (1982) and traveled the United States as a trumpet/ trombonist and music director/arranger with a variety of groups and shows from 1982-1983. Began radio career at WZND in Zeeland Michigan. Spent time in Grand Rapids at WLAV, WJFM and WGRD. Moved to Chicago in 1988 to join WCKG.
